Welcome

Welcome to Sacred Living Blog! A lifetime of loving and learning has brought us to this place and we intend to share our passions and insights as well as our continued queries into life, the universe and everything.

This blog will have two components ~ the more spiritual aspects of living a simple reverent life and the actual brass tacks of daily life ~ growing our own food, making our own medicines and serving our community as well as being parents of five adult children. We like to think of our lifestyle as Sacred Activism ~ at least that’s our goal: to walk our talk and to be a part of the change that we want to see in the world.

Neither Harry or I are ‘experts’ at anything (although we have a consider amount of knowledge in some areas) and quite truthfully, we believe it’s time for all of us to share our passions and insights and to open dialogues about what’s important to all of us. We believe we have much more in common than we are led to believe. This blog is not intended to be a ‘how to’ but rather ‘how we do’ and ‘what we observe’.

So, enough said. We welcome you to our simple life of love ~ in our heart, our family, our community and in nature. And, of course, that love IS the Great Spirit that moves through us all.

We hope you’ll join us as we ponder living a ‘good life’ and open up some questions to consider as we walk a conscious path. As Ram Dass says, “We’re all just walking each other home.” So, let’s do it well!

(One thing ~ we decided against having comments on the blog only because we’re committed to living our lives and not just being on the computer but we are very happy to communicate with you. Just email us and we’ll be sure to get back to you.)

Spiritual mentor Deb Vail will often become ecstatic over her dog, a simple flower, violin music or a southern Appalachian handcraft. Communing with a subtly boisterous forest brings her joy difficult to contain. Deb, the founder of Sacred Living, has created a service for those with serious illness to find comfort, ease and bit of wonderment.
